Tate St Ives & OOTN

 ...

Dress - Topshop, Hat - H&M, Necklace - H&M, Shoes - Forever 21, Bag - Primark

Another collection of photos from my holiday, this time when we went to Tate St Ives gallery and had a day on the beach. Tate St Ives had some really interesting work, most very minimalist but one artist that I particularly liked was Patrick Heron who focused on colour & designed prints for silk scarves. I found it amazing how at 14 he designed his first scarf which had the same design in two different colour schemes on each half so that it could be worn in S/S aswell as A/W, which showed his great understanding of colour & design at such a young age.

Whilst at the gallery we stopped in the cafe upstairs and the views of St Ives were really beautiful, so I had to take a few pictures :-) I can't help thinking that the pictures of the roofs & chimneys looked like the architecture an artist called Egon Schiele would have painted, and who's work I studied in Y10 for art - one of my favourite artists :-)

Here's my OOTD, and surprise suprise it's monochrome haha. I really can't get enough of my hat at the moment, I wanted a bowler/pork pie hat for absolutley ages but I just couldnt justify spending £25 on one from Topshop or Urban Outfitters, so when I found this one in H&M for only £7.99 I really had to have it. I think it's the perfect finishing touch & adds a slight quirkiness to any outfit.

Hope you like the look,

So come out of your cave walking on your hands, and see the world hanging upside down..

Cami - Topshop
Shorts & belt - H&M
Cardigan - H&M
Sandals - Forever 21
Necklaces - Miss Selfridge

Longest title ever but I love a bit of Mumford & Sons :-)
On holiday we found this cute little beach with this big cave which I thought would be the perfect backdrop for a OOTD. Not much colour in this outfit but I really like how simple it is, and I wanted to make my shoes the focus because I absolutely love them. I originally saw the gold Jeffrey Campbell spiked sandals on tumblr and fell in love with them, and luckily I found this dupe pair on Forever 21 which are pretty much identical, and although I usually wear gold over silver I much prefer this pair - I really recommend Forever 21 shoes, these have to be one of my favourite purchases this year :-)

Still look like a bit of a ghost in these photos despite actually tanning a bit, well tanning for me anyway haha, so I apologise for how washed out I look & also the crazy windswept hair, t'was rather windy but hey ho.

Anyway hope you like the look,

Check Mate

          Top - H&M
            Levi Shorts - Vintage
           Cardigan - H&M
           Necklace - H&M
           Shoes - Forever 21

This is the outfit I wore to Lands End, casual but has a retro vibe with this Louis Vuitton S/S inspired top from H&M, vintage Levis & my favourite vintage sunnies. I really love H&M's divided collection at the moment, and I was instantly drawn to this checkerboard t-shirt style top because I didn't own anything like it, despite it being another monochrome addition to my wardrobe ;-) I also love how this top is quite 60's, so I decided to play with the vintage vibe by mixing the top with 90's grunge Levis & tortoiseshell sunnies, finishing the look with my chunky chain necklace which I think works really well. I think this has to one of my favourite outfits I've worn all summer :-)

Hope you like the look,

St Michael's Mount & OOTN

So to continue from my last post, this is part two with photos I took from St Michael's Mount, a little island near Penzance - which was a trek to get upto but totally worth it for the amazing views & to go inside the beautiful medieval castle & church. I really love old buildings & anything oldy worldy so I found it really interesting, in fact I could quite happily live there, how cute would it be to sit in the little alcove bookcase & read? I could do that all day to be honest :-)
I can understand why it's such a popular tourist attraction, and there were all kinds of nationalities visiting, including some Dutch men in clogs!

 Embellished T-Shirt - Primark
Jeans - Topshop
Jelly Sandals - eBay

For my OOTN I wore quite a girly ensemble what with the pastel colours & my clear glitter jelly shoes, which I am so in love with - I don't even care if I look like a five year old in them haha. I know they are definitely a love/hate thing and have been pretty popular this summer, so when I saw them on eBay for only £13.99, I had to buy myself a pair. I understand why I wore them when I was little because they are so comfortble, and the chunky heel gives me extra height which is great if you're a midget like me :-)

Hope you like the look,
